A case report of oligodontia

Abstract
Oligodontia means signle or multiple abscence of primary or permant teeth, which can be associated with ectodermal dysplasia,or without syndrom. The characteristics of oligodontia associated with ectodermal dysplasia are hypotrichosis,
anhidrosis,
dry
skin, nasal bridge depression. The intraoral characteristics of oligodontia are decrease in number of teeth, delayed eruption, enamle abnormality, reduction of tooth form & size.
The patients of this case report consist of 1) oligodontia patient without specific systemic diseases 2) oligodontia patient involving hydrotic ectodermal dysplasia 3) oligodontia patient with anhydrotic ectodermal dysplasia
The informations about the oral and systemic manifestation, and growth pattern of maxilla of the oligodontia patients were achieved and the followings are the results.
1. The prevalence of maxillary first molar missing is the lowest.
2. Horizontal growth of maxilla is restricted.
3. There is no effect of mandibular growth.
4. Abnormal tooth shape, ankylosis of primary teeth, taurodontism, enamel hypoplasia are common among the oligodontia patients.
